5 Places to Practice Your Dancing

Our lives can get so busy that we may find it hard to find time to practice before our next lesson. Luckily for you we have come up with a solution of five places you can practice your dancing. This practice doesn’t necessarily mean full out dancing each time, but, where we can do practice exercises your teacher might have given you.

At Work: Doesn’t matter whether you’re a teacher, doctor, lawyer or accountant, there is always an opportunity to practice our dancing skills. It can be practicing good posture when we are walking around the classroom, office or to and from the staffroom.

In Transit: You may be thinking “How am I going to practice my dancing on a bus, train, plane or taxi?”. While sitting down we are able to practice our footwork. We can roll through our feet from toe to heel or visa-versa .

In Bed/Couch: Dancing is more than just moving our feet. Sitting or laying down is also a good opportunity to practice our arm stylings. Laying on the bed is a good way to train your arms/shoulders so that they don’t go too far behind us.

Walking Down the Street: You don’t need to hardcore Cha Cha down the street. But, if you’re going for a walk and have your headphones in listening to music, its good practice to count out the beats in the music and work out the different kinds of dances you can do to one song.

In Your Mind: Visualisation is an effective tool in helping us achieve and practice our dancing. Imagine you are going full out with the steps, arms and performing. Believe that you can do it and let the positivity shine through.

There are many other places you can practice different dance skills, it doesn’t necessarily have to be the steps or going full out. Pick one skill in a new place and watch your dancing improve. Your teacher will be so proud of you. Ask your teacher today for some different exercises you can practice anywhere!
